Booking and Payment Details
- Reservations at Barnes Car Hire can be made conveniently via our website, by telephone, or in person at our local office. To confirm your booking, a deposit may be required. The total payment and a security deposit are generally collected upon vehicle pick-up. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, ensuring secure transactions through trusted payment processors.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle collection, it is imperative to conduct a thorough inspection and promptly report any pre-existing damage. A vehicle condition report will be prepared and signed by both parties to document the state of the vehicle. Upon returning the vehicle, it should be in the same condition as when it was collected, allowing for standard wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and charged as necessary. You will be responsible for any parking fines, traffic violations, or other charges incurred during your rental period, along with an administration fee.

Additional insurance options may be available to help minimize your financial responsibility. It is advisable to review these options thoroughly. You will be accountable for any damage or loss up to the insurance excess unless you opt for additional insurance. Damage resulting from negligence or misuse remains your responsibility, regardless of your insurance coverage.
6. Modifications and Cancellations
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice period provided. For precise information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Prohibited Activities
Prohibited Vehicle Uses:
- Prohibited activities include using the vehicle for illegal purposes or engaging in racing, rallying, or off-road driving. Transporting hazardous materials, sub-letting to unauthorized individuals, and allowing unapproved drivers are also not permitted. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, exceeding weight limits, and operating the vehicle outside authorized geographical areas are strictly forbidden.
Breach of terms may lead to rental cancellation and fees.
8. Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Barnes Car Hire will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims is limited to the rental fees paid over the past 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury due to negligence or fraud.
